Sir,

The Fleet being now Sailed for Halifax, I take the opportunity to Acquaint am pursuant to my Circular Letter of the 15th, desiring an relative to laying on an Embargo, on all Shipping whatsoever within ^any of^ the Parts of your Government.

Having, by my Letter of the 15t. of March last, Acquainted you, that it was ^absolutely^ necessary for H. M.s Service, that an ^immediate^ Embargo should be laid on all Ships, in the different ports of the respective provinces in North America; and ^accordingly did^ Desire you, forthwith to Publish the same, and to continue it, untill such time as You received notice from me to take it off, which notice I then promised should be transmitted to You as soon as H. M.'s Service would allow the Embargo to be taken off ^of it^; I am ^therefore^ now, pursuant to the above promise, to Acquaint You, that the Fleet being Sailed for Halifax, I have fixed on Monday the 22nd. Instant, for the said Embargo to be taken off, and You will accordingly publish the same within all the respective parts of Your Government; I have chosen this little distance of time deferr'd it to that day, till then, in order that, ^it might take place at one and the same time in^ all His Majestys other Governments on this continent within the reach of that time might wherefore I must desire that it may be continue ^you will^ strictly observe & Continue untill ^the said Embargo^ that day.
