Sir,
We have now Almost finished the Business we were ordered upon by his Majesty in a Manner which we hope will be agreable and Demonstrate that Nothing in our power has been Ommitted to Attain the Ends proposed by this Congress.
The Superintendant who met the Indians here before our Arrival wrote us that he found it impracticable to satisfy them with single rations, and we advised him not to give them any dissatisfaction on that Account, & promised to represent this Matter to your Excellency, and on our arrival here we found them in such a Disposition as made it necessary to Gratify them in their Demands for Rum, Tobacco, and an Extraordinary Allowance of provisions they could not have been prevailed with to remain here when any other Terms than doubling their rations of Beef, which we hope your Excellency will consider an an Expence incurred, to Obviate the inconviences that might have resulted from their Dissatisfaction we therefore beg leave to desire that Your Excellency will admit of this Charge in the Superintendants Account We are
Sir
Your Excellencys Most Obedient
& Most humble Servants
