Sir,
This House have taken into Consideration the Many disadvantages and Inconveniencies to which this Province has long been exposed from the want of a Proper Place established for the seat of Government, and being desirous as farr as lies in our Power to Procure a redress of this Grievance have Resolved to Present their humble Address to His Majesty beseeching him that he would be Graciously Pleased to repeal the Act of Assembly Pass'd at Edenton in, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Eight for fixing the seat of Government at Tower Hill, And to signify his Royal Approbation of the Town of New-Bern as a Proper Place for the Purpose aforesaid and being duly Sensible how farr the Success of such Address depends on your Excellys. Concurrence with an Approbation of the same beg leave to request your Excelly. would be pleased to Assist with your best Endeavours our humble Solicitations for removing the Grievance aforesaid.
