Sir,

In consequence of the melancholy Event of the King's Death on the 25th. instant, I am directed by the Lords Commissrs. for Trade and Plantations, to take the Opportunity by the Packet of acquainting you, that the necessary Forms for proclaiming his present Majesty in the Colonies, together with Warrants for using the old Seals, Proclamations for continuing Officers in their Employments, Orders for Alteration of the Liturgy &c &c. are preparing with all possible Dispatch, & will be transmitted to yourself & the rest of the Governors and Commanders in Chief of His Majesty's Colonies in America in a few Days.
