Hon. F. M. Simmons,
Washington, D.C.
My dear Senator:-
I beg to send you the enclosed extract from a letter that I have just received from a member of the Local Board of Cabarrus county.1 I am sure that nothing could possibly afford you more pleasure than to be relieved of the embarrassment incident to applications made to you from registrants and their friends, and I deem it a personal kindness to you to send you an extract from this letter to the end that you may be in a position to say to all such applicants that the administrative draft officials do not welcome letters from civil officers in regard to these matters.
With kind regards, I am,
Very truly yours,
[unsigned]
