Local Board for the county
of Scotland, State of N.C.
Laurinburg, No. Car. [stamped]
Laurinburg, N.C.
May 17, 1918.
Hon. T. W. Bickett, Governor,
Raleigh, N.C.
Dear Sir:-
Your letter, accompanied by letter from Mrs. Bertha Thompson, wife of Charlie Armstrong Thompson, to hand. Upon investigation the Local Board finds that Charlie Armstrong Thompson is a worthless man to his family and country. He does not support his wife and children. His family is supported by the work of his wife. Mr. Claud Gore of R Rockingham told us that his wife was an industrious and hard working woman while Thompson was worthless and would not work. The board has reclassified him and put him in class One, and called him for Military duty.
Yours very truly,
J. T. Covington
Chief Clerk.
