Hon. E. H. Crowder,
Provost Marshal General,
Washington, D. C.
My dear General Crowder:
The situation in Pitt County has been relieved by the exercise of sanity and discretion. Two members of the Board have resigned, new members have been appointed, and I am satisfied there will be no further trouble in that County. The situation was a rather unfortunate one, and one that required care in handling without detriment to the public good.
With much respect, I beg to remain
Very truly yours,
Governor.
