Mr. F. B. Hendren,
Wilkesboro, N.C.

My dear Frank:-

On yesterday I certified to the Commanding Officer at Camp Jackson the discharge of Howard Clifton Pruett, together with a letter from me strong enough to break through the Hindenburg Line. At some time when we are together and have a half day off, I will recount to you the amount of gente[torn] profanity I have had to indulge in to get these discharges eve[torn] properly considered by the War Department. Of course this is grave-yard [torn] now because I dont want to do anything that will create any feeling against the Department just now.

Sincerely yours,

[unsigned]
