Mr. J. Franklin Flowers,
Charlotte, N.C.

My dear Mr. Flowers:-

I am in receipt of your letter of the 14th, and thank you for writing me. I gather from your letter than you and I are in entire accord with respect to the principles that should govern the settlement of labor disputes. I send you a copy of letter that I have just written in reply to a telegram from Mr. Stafford1, which explains my attitude towards this particular case. I trust that by this time matters have quieted down at Lowell.

Very truly yours,

[unsigned]

1. The Mr. Stafford referred to here is most likely Walter Eugene Stafford.
