My Dear Governer,

I received a copy of your favor of Sept. 30th. I suppose the copy was inadvertently mailed.

I appreciate very much the offer of assistance in the matter of the car barn tragedy. I think we should have further conference before the matter is entered upon. Just now I am in the midst of a very heavy docket, and at the same time am sending witnesses before the Grand Jury from every point of view. Every facility has been given for investigation and a a thorough investigation is being made by the Grand Jury.

When the court adjourns I will submit to you fully my views about the coroners inquest.

I will be out of court for two weeks, Judge Shaw holding 2 weeks Civil Term in Mecklenburg before the Civil Term in Gaston.
