Gentlemen!
I have the honor to submit the following report for the quarter ending June 30th 1878.
The report of the Treasurer herewith enclosed will show in detail what has been done during the year, that we have had change, and what disposition has been made of the funds and to it I respectfully ask your most careful attention. On account of the bad condition of the road-bed our expenses have been very heavy, every bridge has been repaired or built new and unusual numbers of ties bedded and yet much more is needed the shops at Salisbury we are compelled to rebuild and the lumber for it has been obtained, we hope to have it in condition to use before winter.
The work on construction has been greatly retarded by heavy slides but is otherwise progressing favorably. It is impossible to measure these slides with any accuracy can only approximate an estimate.
