Woman's Club
Raleigh, North Carolina

Dear Governor Craig,

As perhaps you already know, the women throughout the state are deeply interested and concerned in these Child Labor laws that are now before the Senate.

It was with a genuine thrill of pleasure & satisfaction that I heard your declaration in your Inaugural Address: "that the mill was no place for the motherhood of our State!" My own Raleigh Club has sent our petitions urging women to use their influence for the passage of these laws, and I hold in my possession hundreds of signatures of earnest, thinking women. But we women do not need to act if men can & do act for us, and I am confident that you will do & are doing all that you can to help in this great cause.

In the hope that our great State will make tremendous progress in the next week along the lines of new legislation to protect women & children, I am

Sincerely
