SOUTHERN RAILWAY COMPANY

OFFICE OF Sylva, N.C., July 12th, 1916.

Governor Locke Craig, State N. Cal.
Raleigh, N.C.

Dear Governor Craig:-

Serving the Southern RailWay at this place, makes me know everbody in our county, and puts me in splendid position to raise a National Guard at this town. I now have selected 70 young men, running in age 18 to 25 years old, the finest type of young men, this county can possibly turn out. I can make a National Guard here, I am sure that our state would be proud of.

I have some ten or fifteen young buisness men, that would give, and make some good Officers, I am in position to take at any time any training, that is necessary in making this guard.

I shall be glad to have you outline, fully the making of a National Guard.

I AM Very Truly, Yours,

W. V. Dorsey.
