Dear old Friend-

It is with much pleasure I write you my hearty congratulations. "I told you so." I wonder if you men in power will do something to separate the blk from the white race? I trust so!

I hope to hear you old friend Prof Alderman Sunday next.

I was truly sorry not to hear, as well as to see you when here. (I keep up with you in the papers.)

If, in your trips to Durham you can find me, I should indeed be [charmed] and grateful.

Yours with best wishes,
