My dear Sir:

I wish to thank you for the courtesy extended Dr. Rankin, Secretary of the Board of Health, in his examination of the sanitary conditions of the convict camps of your county. In view of the report of Dr. Rankin, a copy of which I have requested him to send to you, I would suggest that the commissioners of Nash County confer with the State Board of Health with reference to the improvement of sanitary conditions in the convict camps. I understand that Mr. Thomas H. Battle has written a letter to the Secretary of the Board of Health, stating that changes are contemplated.
