Be it remembered, that on the Tenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & seventy seven, William Llewellin of Martin County Planter, and Thomas Hunter and John Everett both of the County of Martin Planters, came before me John Baptist Beasley Esquire, Judge of the Court of oyer Sessions of the Peace, Oyer and Terminer, and General Gaol Delivery for the District of Edenton, and severally acknowledged themselves to owe to the State of North Carolina, that is to say, the said William Llewellin One thousande Pounds Current Money of the said State, and the said Thomas Hunter and John Everett in the Sum of Five ^hundred^ Pounds each of the same Money, to be respectively levied of their Lands and Tenements; Goods and Chattels ^of the said William Lewellin and the said Thomas Hunter and John Everett^ if the said William Llewellin shall make default in the performance of the Condition underwritten.

The Condition of this Recognizance is such, that if the above bound William Lewellin shall personally appear before the next Sessions of the Peace, Oyer and Terminer, and General Gaol Delivery for the District of Edenton then and there to answer to the said State for and concerning a Charge of Misprision of Treason, for which a Bill of Indictment hath been found against him, and to do and receive what shall by the Court be then and there enjoined him, and shall not depart the Court without licence, then the above written Recognizance shall be void.
