Brunswick. October 1st 1758

Sr,

I Received yr Excellency's Favour of the 26th Septr. with the Packet inclosed to Govr. Fauquier by yr. Messenger this Evening, and Shall use my best Endeavour to forward it by Express to Morrow to Virginia; But there is not a Person to be had here for any Sum to go with it, and must send it up to Morrow to Wilmington to Mr. Toomer to forward it from thence and to agree with some Person there to Carry it and to advance him as much money as will Carry him to Williamsburg and to let Govr. Fauquier Know his agreement, and I shall write to him to pay the messenger what He Shall agree for.

I could get no Person but the man I Sent to you last Tuesday to Carry you Genl. Forbes's dispatches, and by him I acquainted you that I Had wrote to you by a Sloop the glorious news we had from Europe and the Taking Fort Frontenac which I hope you have got last week: Since that I Have heard no farther News altho 2 vessels are arrived here, one from Plymouth and on from Lieth. The Last was 15 weeks on her passage and brought no news the others was taken by the French and Ransomed and lost all his Papers, and with them any News we Might have had by him.

I am with due Esteem Sr

yr Excellencys

Most Obedt. Humble

Servant
