Subject: Control of Venereal Diseases.

1. Referring to our telegram, a copy of which is enclosed, we are sending you a copy of our letter to secretaries of State Boards of Health with enclosures, also a statement of measures essential to a successful campaign against venereal disease, which also is being sent to the secretaries of State Boards of Health.

2. In this connection, we call your attention to the recently appointed Minnesota Social Hygiene Commission which is affiliated with the Minnesota State Council of Defense (known locally as the Commission of Public Safety). We are asking this organization to send you information regarding its plans. We call your attention also to the appropriation of $60,000 made by the State of California for the purpose of combating venereal diseases.

3. We hope the urgency of the present situation will lead you to take immediate and vigorous action.
